The Technical adviser for the Black Stars Chris Hughton has urged the citizens of Ghana not to panic ahead of Friday’s World Cup playoff against Nigeria.

Many Ghanaian faithfuls aren’t confident enough with the National team following their poor outing at the Africa Cup of Nations earlier this year in Cameroon but the former Magpies boss is optimistic that his team is capable of pulling an upset.

“As a part of the buildup, I would like to urge Ghanaian to remain calm and positive about the team because we strongly believe we have the quality, desire and hunger to achieve the results that we want,” he said.

“It is our aim to qualify for the Qatar (2022) World Cup and we all have a duty to make that dream a reality. Ghana have done it before and we can guarantee you that everybody associated with the Black Stars wants this opportunity again to perform on a World stage.

According to reports, Ghana were the last African side to release it’s official list and fans of the Black Stars seem to have lost faith in the national team but the Technical Adviser expects the home supporter to back the team.

“This moment presents the opportunity to write history and we are all committed to it from the players, the technical staff, the Ghana Football Association and, the Government. We value your support. We are Ghana and we are ready.”
