The head coach of the Super Eagles has called for improvement from his players ahead of tomorrow’s clash against Cape Verde at the Teslim Balogun stadium.
Nigeria who needs a win or a draw to seal qualification to the final round of the FIFA World Cup qualifier will be looking to improve on their overall performances after loosing 1-0 in the last home game against The Central African Republic.
The German gaffer was full of praise for Leicester City’s Wilfred Ndidi alongside Everton’s Alex Iwobi, adding that their return to the team has improved the West African giants.
“I think that the return of some players like Wilfred Ndidi and Alex Iwobi who didn’t play last month’s qualifiers against the Central African Republic is a very good thing for the Super Eagles,”
Following his side’s 2-0 win over Liberia in the FIFA World Cup Qualifier played over the weekend.l, the coach stated that the premier league stars added some piece of scenery to the team.
“I admit that we really need to work on our attacking play, there is still a lot of work to do.”
“But I’m happy that we didn’t concede any goal. Whether a penalty or not, I’m very happy that we won the game and picked up all the three points on offer.”
Rohr also said that his team was already prepared for the encounter having gone through clips of his opponents
“So, we’re happy with the victory, we knew before the match that it would be difficult to beat Liberia. We saw the videos of their games, to have lost in the last minutes when they deserved to have got a draw.
The Super Eagles will slug it out against Cape Verde at the Teslim Balogun stadium in Surulere on Tuesday the 16th of November 2021 at 5pm.
