The coach of the Nigeria’s Super Falcons, Thomas Dennerby has praised both Rivers Angels of Port Harcourt and Ibom Queens of Uyo for their performances during the Aiteo cup female Federation Cup final at Samson Siasia Stadium, Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.
Juliet Sunday’s 48th minute goal gave Rivers Angels the victory and ensured they retained the trophy in which they won last year.
The coach said he saw excellent football display from Rivers Angels who were very clinical and created better goal scoring chances and also was full of praise for Rivers Angels goalkeeper, Chiamaka Nnadozie who was between the sticks for the Super Falconets in the just concluded FIFA U-20 WOMENS WORLD CUP made some outstanding saves to deny Ibom Angels and the swedish gaffer believes she might have a shot in the Super Falcons team.
“I think she has improved well, but sheis an extremely good goalkeeper for her age.“It was a good final and both teams could have won it. I think in open play,Ibom was a bit quicker, a bit more attacking players with more passes.
“Rivers Angel played more straight and very tough to compete with, very tough with set pieces. They created a lot of chances and they scored.”
The winner Rivers Angels went home with N10 million while Ibom Angels got N5 million as runners-up
